The Land of Pink Sand
Recently I was invited to be a part of an all Women’s Pro-Am on the beautiful island of Bermuda. This tournament was the 20th Annual Bermuda Ladies Pro-Am Golf Classic…
I am a born and raised Floridian who grew up playing boys ice hockey. Don’t worry; the ice is inside so it doesn’t melt. 😉
I was the annoying little sister that wanted to do everything her big brother did…he played hockey, I wanted to play, he was hanging out with his friends, I wanted to hang out with his friends. So needless to say we were always fighting because I wouldn’t go away or stop bothering him. You would think growing up in Florida I would have grown up in a golfing household not a hockey household. Well my dad grew up as a caddy at Oakmont Country Club and was always playing as I grew up but I thought golf was the absolute silliest sport I’d ever heard of. I thought riding in the golf cart was more fun than playing golf.
It came time for me to go to high school and I wanted to play a sport but my high school didn’t have a hockey team. I went to the sports orientation night before I started my Freshman year and talked with the golf coach. That is when I decided well you whack something with a stick in hockey and you whack something with a stick in golf, how hard could it be and I’ve been swinging the club ever since. I was 14 when I first started playing golf and picked up a club two weeks before my freshman year in high school. I grew to love the game very quickly partially because I was involved in The First Tee program and that made it fun and exciting to learn.
I was a participant of The First Tee program all throughout high school. I had the opportunity to go to every National Academy, whether it was Life Skills and Leadership or and Advanced Players Forum. I even qualified to play in the Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach 2 years in a row. At The First Tee Open I was paired with Andy Bean my first year and Jeff Sluman my second year. My second year was a little more special as I had the opportunity to play with Bill Murray…talk about a hilarious individual. By the end of my senior year I had earned a full golf scholarship to Daytona State College, a junior college in Daytona Beach, Florida. I played two years at DSC where we won just about every tournament we played in, as well as back to back national championships I earned 1st Team All American honors both years at DSC.
After I was done with my two years at DSC I could be recruited again, which is how I ended up at The University of Mississippi. I earned another full golf scholarship to Ole Miss, where I finished out my collegiate golfing career. After graduating in 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications I attended LPGA Tour Qualifying School where I earned status for the LPGA Symetra Tour. This will be my third season on the Symetra Tour and my goal by the end of this season is to have my LPGA Tour Card.
Thank you for following along in my journey and if I am ever in your area be sure to say hello!

I would probably be in marketing/advertising, college coaching, interior design or maybe a personal shopper. I love fashion
Because I can’t count higher than 5… Just Kidding. Originally I picked it up just so I would have a sport to play in high school. But as time went on I grew to love the game and the fact that you can never attain perfection but will always strive for excellence. It is a constant competition with yourself to be better than you were the last time you played and I love that.
My strengths are my ball striking and my attitude and my weakness is my short game.
When I was 14 Years Old.
I had a short stint as a dancer, played water polo for about two years and even played boys Ice hockey for about 6 or 7 years.
